NYSCA extends a special invitation for an optional project to any interested artist to participate in a competition for a
new logo design and consider adopting NYSCA’s re-branding of a new logo design as a civic engagement project in
both academic institutions and non-academic organizations.

The conference begins!

The conference begins today! A few final tips:
 
On-site registration/conference check in begin at 1pm Friday and the first panel starts at 2:15pm.
 
Presenters: Please bring a laptop or a tablet with HDMI adapter. We have cables and a limited amount of loaner machines, but it is really best if you have your own device.
 
We have open bar (with ID) reception Friday and Saturday nights before dinner, bring some small bills for tips.
 
If you play an instrument, bring it! We have an open jam/sing along on Saturday night.

G.I.F.T.S. Call For 2019 Panelists

Great Ideas For Teaching Students (GIFTS) provides an excellent opportunity for faculty members and/or graduate students to share classroom-tested “great ideas” with other educators. With a focus on ways that temporal dynamics affect our communication practices, this year’s conference theme encourages a variety of pedagogical approaches for reflecting on the past, measuring the present, preparing for the future and challenging presumptions about how time is perceived. Submissions may present an activity, assignment, project, game, simulation, etc. for addressing a specific communication theory, concept, skill, or learning objective.
